We have never been in Luneburg. These are beautiful pictures. There doesn't seem to be much traffic. Thanks for sharing the photos with us. It makes us feel like we are there with you.
Not much traffic because, like in many European cities, the old inner city has been turned into a pedestrian zone or "Fußgängerzone." And, yes, northern German cities are quite different from southern Germany and Austria. Note the gothic cathedral--the Johanniskirche (14th century)--a great example of north German "Backsteingotik," or "brick gothic." Those red bricks are typical.
This is so pretty - I've never been in this part of Germany. Is that a Weissen Rossl I see? (can't do umlauts)
ReplyDeleteThat's an Einhorn-- first German word Mia ever learned. It's hanging above the Einhorn Apotheke.

ReplyDeleteThis is so different from South Germany and Austria, with which we are more familiar. Thanks for the pictures. GG
